1876 Country Club is a new golf course targeting a 2024 opening in a new community in Celina, Texas built by Centurion American Development Group. Celina is a short drive north of Dallas.
Golf architect Lee Singletary has planned the 18-hole course to play at 7,337 yards from the championship tees. Lee Singletary is a native Texan and experienced design-build golf architect. The course is planned to have five sets of tees giving options for a variety of handicaps. The Brookshire at Legacy Hills master planned property by Windsor Homes is 3,200 acres.
Native trees on the course are routed around mature live oaks and cedar elm trees. Strategy around Little Elm Creek and its tributaries feature throughout the course integrating fairways to greens. Greens are planted in TifEagle Bermuda and fairways are TifTuf Bermudagrass. TifTuf with recently developed Coachella and Presidio bermudagrass varieties are drought tolerant grasses requiring approximately 30 percent less water.
