Crownwood Club - New Golf Club in Sweden

Henrik Stenson is the lead golf architect behind The Crownwood Club. Crownwood is a new private members club in the south of Sweden, near Helsingborg. The club will feature a new 18-hole championship golf course and an 11-hole course. Both courses are designed by Stenson and his partner Christian Lundin, EIGCA. Stenson is a Swedish professional golfer who won The 2016 Open Championship.

More than 10 years in the planning from investor Arild Karlsen, the site of Crownwood Club is a 200-acre property with sandy soils ideal for golf and near the coastline. The team's aim is to create a unique and special golf experience that will outpace the best clubs in Europe. Amenities planned include a full-service clubhouse with gym, spa, and open-office environment for members to work remotely.

Construction of the golf course started in 2023. Anticipated opening is in 2025. Stenson and Lundin are working with the GEO Foundation and additional partners to ensure a sustainable, environmental approach to the project. All Golf Services(AGS) is leading the installation of the Rain Bird irrigation system. Steven Richardson is the Director of Agronomy overseeing the grow-in. Richardson has previous experience as Golf Course & Estates Manager at Queenwood Golf Club, Head Greenkeeper at Sunningdale Golf Club, various at Pinehurst.

Christian Lundin is a member of the European Institute of Golf Course Architects(EIGCA). At the start of his career in golf, Lundin gained golf course maintenance experience as a greenskeeper at Ullna Golf Club north of Stockholm. Lundin is also designing the Trump MacLeod Golf Course in Scotland in conjunction with Martin Hawtree and Christine Fraser. Both MacLeod and Crownwood have anticipated 2025 opening dates.
