Degarmo Park - Beyond Golf

Opening November 2025, Degarmo Park's Beyond Golf new 9 hole golf facility is an exciting addition to the Chico, California area. The course is named Bill Rich Memorial Junior Golf Course to honor Bill Rich's contribution to community junior golf. The park was transformed to add a 9 hole short course layout created by Celebrity Greens. Artificial, synthetic turf greens and surrounds accelerated construction and added water saving measures.

Construction at Degarmo Park began in early 2024. The community project will feature soccer fields and other outdoor activies. Total project public/private costs were $8 million.

Beyond Golf Chico and Grant Hornbeak are leading the effort to expand golf to youth in the Chico community. Butte County Youth Sports and Education Foundation is an initiative to bring public golf education and facilities to youth in the area. Degarmo Park's Beyond Golf offers free golf to junior golfers.
