Degarmo Park - New Golf Facility

Degarmo Park's new golf facility is set to be an exciting addition to the Chico, California area. The park is being transformed to add a 9 hole short course layout created by Celebrity Greens. Artificial, synthetic turf will likely be the choice to accelerate construction and prioritize water saving measures.

Construction at Degarmo Park began in early 2024. The facility is planned to open in 2025. The community project will feature soccer fields and other outdoor activies. Total project public/private costs are targeted at $8 million.

Beyond Golf Chico and Grant Hornbeak are leading the effort to expand golf to youth in the Chicgo community. Butte County Youth Sports and Education Foundation is an initiative to bring public golf education and facilities to youth in the area. It is planned for Degarmo Park to offer free golf to junior golfers.
