Royale Nusantara Golf Resort - Indonesia
Royale Nusantara Golf Resort & Residence is a new golf course resort and community in Indonesia with a planned golf construction start in 2025. The course is being designed by Greg Norman Golf Course Design. Norman is prolific in Southeast Asia with a number of designs in Vietnam, Thailand, and Cambodia.
Deputy Chief Commissioner of PT Inand Development, Sofan Ajalil Jaobat is overseeing the project development. The Nusantara course will integrate the natural beauty of Indonesia’s tropical landscape, utilizing the island’s unique terrain. Players will encounter undulating fairways, strategic water penalty areas, and a backdrop of long coastal views. The plan for the course emphasizes sustainability with efficient irrigation systems, and the use of native plants.
The resort is expected to play a significant role in boosting golf tourism in Indonesia. Indonesian Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy Sandiaga Uno has made public statements to promote Indonesia as a premier golfing destination in Asia with regional collaborations with AirAsia and Singapore Airlines.
Indonesia is planning to relocate its capitol from Jakarta to Nusantara, East Kalimantan. The new city Nusantara will be built with an estimated cost of $32 billion and expected to be twice the size of New York City/three times the size of Singapore.
