Travis Club - Golf and Marina in Texas
The Travis Club is a proposed residential community with a golf course and marina near Lake Travis in Travis County just west of the state capital in Austin, Texas. Design will be led by Beau Welling. Welling was onsite in December 2023 walking the site. Construction will start on the new golf course in the spring of 2024. Hart Howerton is leading landscape design. Welling has been involved with other prominent projects in Texas, including The West Course at PGA of America, Frisco and Escondido. At Bluejack National, Welling was the lead design associate onsite building the golf course for Tiger Woods.
The Travis Club Phase One Final Plat was approved in July 2023 for 274 single family home lots and 223 villa units. Phase One has started and includes 106 homes with the marina with 10,000 feet of waterfront property. The development will cover 339.97 acres and will be partially located in the City of Briarcliff Extra-Territorial Jurisdiction (ETJ). Water will be provided by the Vista Municipal Utility District of Travis County. Additionally, approvals were made for the Travis County Subdivision Construction Agreement with HH-CH-B Blue Lake, LLC and the Travis Club Subdivision Phasing Agreement in Precinct Three. Developers behind the resort include Menlo Park, Haas & Haynie Corp., and Castle Hill Partners Inc..
The project masterplan was also approved by the Lower Colorado River Authority(LCRA) as well, meaning the plan was approved because it met water-quality performance standards of the Highland Lakes Watershed Ordinance.
In addition to design work with Tiger Woods, Welling is one of the busiest in the game with progress underway at The Freestone Club in Fairfield, Texas. The Freestone Club has plans for a new 18 hole championship course and short course with a large lakefront marina. South Seas Resort on Captiva Island in Florida is another Welling design that opened in 2023.
