Windridge - Whisper - Lennar Golf

Golf architect Dale Beddo is a building a new golf course outside Kerrville, Texas in a new community named Windridge by Lennar in Athens, Texas. Beddo has a 798 acre site to find the new 18 holes and situate the adjacent fairway homes. Land planning for the site has come from different proposals for a golf resort, ranch, and homesite property. The property was proposed twenty years ago as a golf course with a layout by von Hagge, Smelek and Baril design named Whiskey Springs.

Lennar is a real estate developer building homes with golf courses as a community amenity. Whisper is a Lennar property in San Marcos between Austin and San Antonio. Ridgeland is in Kerrville northwest of San Antonio at the intersection of Interstate 10 and State Highway 16. The National at Ave Maria Golf Course is another Lennar golf property in Florida. Approval from Kerrville City Council was granted in August 2025 following devastating summer floods.

The golf course will be designed to meet standards from The Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary System (ACCS). Beddo previously designed and built Copper Rock Golf Course in Southern Utah which opened in 2019.
